Hi!  I'm Donna, a home baker, and I love to create special desserts for special people for their special occasions. 

I'm happily married, happily employed full-time and enjoy being the mom of two beautiful, grown daughters.  In my spare time, I LOVE to bake for my customers; making their special occasion a little sweeter.  I know that when you order something it's because you want to treat that special person in your life with something wonderful.  Nothing brings me more joy than helping you do that!

In the beginning...

I was lucky enough to have some very wonderful women in my life - an awesome mom and two amazing grandmothers.  All great cooks; I learned from them at an early age. I can smell and taste the memories... gingerbread, pumpkin pie, apple pie, chocolate chip cookies and good ole' yellow cake with chocolate frosting to name only a few.

And life goes on...

I enjoyed to cook through the years and bake for my own family & friends.  It was always fun to add some extra touches to a birthday cake or cupcakes to make them a little more special.  Over the years I tried my hand at some fancy desserts, a cookie bouquet and even some more "complicated" cakes.  I can't say that I ever dreamed of baking for others but I know I sure enjoyed it when I had the opportunity to do so.

Cakes and Cookies by Donna is born...

I had always thought it would be fun to take a cake class.  My daughters thought that would be fun too and gifted me with a class for Christmas one year.  My oldest daughter and I took a number of classes and without even realizing it was happening, Cakes and Cookies by Donna was born.  Boy, am I glad it was!  If you're reading this and I've never baked for you I hope you will give me the opportunity!
